STAY, THE ORIOLE WAY
Living Lightly at The Oriole..
To help everyone have a comfortable stay, we've put together a few gentle house guidelines. The Oriole Way….
-
Please treat the home as you would your own.
While we don't expect perfection, we do appreciate care and consideration for the space, furnishings, books, and equipment provided during your stay.
-
Birdsong is our background music.
The Oriole is located in a peaceful residential village. We kindly request guests to keep noise levels low, especially during early mornings and evenings.
If you'd like to listen to music or watch videos, please use headphones or keep volumes low.
-
To support the wellness-focused nature of our experiences, smoking and recreational drug use are not permitted within the property.
Alcohol is not included in our experiences and we encourage guests to enjoy their stay with a clear mind and an open heart.
-
Wet swimsuits, towels, and clothing can be hung on the balcony or designated drying areas.
Please avoid placing wet items on beds, chairs, or indoor furnishings.
-
Books, games, and quiet corners are meant to be enjoyed.
Feel free to borrow, browse, and linger.
If you start a book and fall in love with it, we only ask that it finds its way back home before you leave.
-
Like many village homes in Goa, occasional power fluctuations and water interruptions may occur.
We've done our best to prepare for these situations and appreciate your patience should they arise.
-
Depending on the experience you've booked, meals may be included as part of your stay and delivered to The Oriole at designated meal times.
The kitchenette is available for guests who enjoy preparing simple meals, making tea or coffee, storing snacks, or cooking occasionally during their stay.
If you choose to use the kitchenette, we kindly request that you wash any dishes used and leave the space as you found it so that it remains welcoming for the next person.
Should you feel inspired to share a favourite recipe or meal, we'd love to hear the story behind it.
Please avoid leaving food uncovered, as Goa's tiny residents (especially ants) are always eager to join the feast.
-
Many guests choose The Oriole not simply as a place to stay, but as part of a guided experience.
Depending on your chosen journey, your days may include swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, water confidence coaching, wellness sessions, nature walks, healing practices, or simply time to rest and reconnect.
You're welcome to participate fully, move at your own pace, or spend a quiet afternoon with a book and a cup of tea. There is no right way to experience The Oriole.
-
We're doing our best to reduce waste and encourage guests to do the same.
A reusable water bottle, cloth bag, and reef-friendly products are always appreciated.
-
Be kind.
To yourself.
To others.
To the sea.
To the creatures, people, and places that make this corner of Goa special.
Your Rhythm
Every stay at The Oriole begins with the simple joy of slowing down.
Stay for a quiet weekend, a week of learning, or a deeper wellness immersion. Some guests come simply to rest. Others choose to fill their days with ocean adventures, new skills, healing practices, or creative pursuits.
Your stay can be as full or as unhurried as you want it to be.
There are no fixed itineraries here, only suggested journeys designed to inspire. Choose one of our signature experiences, personalise your stay with individual add-ons, or simply embrace the slower rhythm of life by the sea.
The choice, as always, is yours.
Choose your journey..
ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR
Charmaine Pereira
Founder of SAHASEA.
India's first woman kiteboarder and the first Indian woman to kayak the Gulf of Mannar.
Adventure facilitator, trauma healing coach, water confidence mentor, and creator of Water Within.
Having experienced the healing power of the ocean firsthand, Charmaine's work brings together water, nature, wellbeing, and personal growth in ways that are accessible, grounded, and deeply human.
Her intention is simple:
To help people move from fear toward trust, from disconnection toward presence, and from surviving toward fully participating in life.
Where It All Began
Long before 'The Oriole', there was 'Mango House'.
Back in 2017, we welcomed our first overnight guests. What began as occasional bookings gradually grew into a much-loved homestay where strangers became friends, many returned month after month, and some have become part of the extended SAHASEA family.
The Oriole carries that same spirit forward.
Rooted in slow travel, meaningful experiences and genuine hospitality, it continues our belief that where you stay should feel just as memorable as what you do.
The reviews were shared by guests who stayed with us at Mango House. They remind us that it was never just about offering a place to sleep, but about creating a place where people felt welcome, connected and at home.
Today, it's the same team, the same heart and the same love for sharing Goa, now with new experiences, a new space, and a new chapter called 'The Oriole'.
We hope your stay with us becomes a story you'll want to tell, too.
Not Sure Which Stay Is Right For You?
Tell us a little about yourself and we'll suggest the best fit.
Whether you're looking for adventure, a new skill, time to rest, or support through life's transitions, we'll help create a stay that suits where you are right now.
